User Roles
Portal allows you to give different users different roles, which allow them to do view/edit dashboards in different ways.
The admin user of an organization can adjust the user roles under “Configuration” → “Users”.
Viewer
- Viewers cannot add annotations.
- Viewers cannot see the MySQL query used to create a panel.
- Viewers can look at dashboards, and change the time window within the dashboard.
Editor
- Editors can add annotations.
- Editors can view, but not edit, the MySQL query used to create any panel.
- Editors can add and edit dashboards/panels in folders that they are given explicit permission to.
Admin
- Admins can give other users access and change their roles.
- Admins have access to all editing functions, like creating/deleting dashboards and panels, as well as editing MySQL queries and changing datasources.
